Woman This Month - October 2015

38 October 2015 www.womanthismonth.com FASHION | trend If you’ve been waiting for the colour of the season, here you go: red and all its variations. From deep burgundy to crimson, this winter demands bold hues, so red it is. Even if only present in a few pieces or used as a detail, we can easily spot this shade as the one to go for when planning on adding some extra colour to this dark season (which doesn’t apply to Bahrain; we are the lucky ones to have sunny winters). The colour of passion is also an important hue to create the traditional plaids we see so often during cold days and to add drama to brocades and velvet textiles. The colour may not be a surprise since its presence is pretty much expected; however, wearing it from head to toe, as suggested by some designers, can be the trick trend behind it. The hue also teams very well with grey (an important colour for this season every year) and orange and creates a great contrast with white. When wearing bright red with black, try to add a third colour to go easy on the palette. However if you opt for a darker tone then it works wonders. Elie Saab is a brand we associate with long and unforgettable evening gowns for glamorous events, so red is a mandatory hue. Fendi and Roland Mouret went for bright red for coats and dresses respectively. Would you go for it?
