Lace (again!), velvet and brocade help to create the mood for this trend which won’t pass unnoticed. Accessories have also embraced Victorian style with intricate pieces that can act as the focal point of a casual ensemble or complement an outfit dedicated to this theme. This style can also take a gothic turn if you go hard-core, for example by pairing a Victorianstyle top with tight faux-leather trousers and boots and finalising the look with black lipstick (which is a beauty trend, by the way). Chanel gave a modern twist to the style with layered pieces and a mix of casual elements with sophisticated items. Rodarte showcased a feminine rock and roller and Alberta Ferretti opted for dreamy looks.
