The CIOB is the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for people and communities by driving professionalism, integrity and innovation across the built environment. As Chair of the CIOB Bahrain Hub, my role is to lead our efforts in connecting industry professionals, academics and students to advance excellence in construction practices within Bahrain. We focus on promoting professional development, supporting emerging talent, and creating a collaborative platform where knowledge, ethics, and innovation in construction can thrive. Ultimately, our goal is to contribute to Bahrain’s sustainable development vision and the global advancement of our profession. How would you characterise the current state of Bahrain’s construction sector; and what one policy change would most improve project delivery? Bahrain’s construction sector continues to be one of the most dynamic in the region, with demand driven by both public infrastructure projects and private development. However, the industry still faces challenges that affect productivity and long-term sustainability.
