www.womanthismonth.com February 2018 23 Fashion house Gucci signalled the opening of the new Gucci Garden by illuminating a giant neon eye artwork on the façade of the elegant, ancient Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence. Designed by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, the Gucci Garden is an exploration of the eclectic creativity that lies at the very heart of the house. It showcases a wide range of pieces from collections dating back to the house’s Florentine origins in 1921 married with recent work, memorabilia, ephemera and contemporary art tellin the story of the house by colliding past with present. Victoria Beckham heads to home turf to show at London Fashion Week (LFW) for the first time this September as part of celebrations to mark her brand’s 10th anniversary. In a throwback to her early days, this month the designer will conduct "intimate presentations" at the James Burden Mansion in Manhattan, showcasing her current collection. After introducing her line with these “small” events, Victoria went on to hold full-on catwalk shows at New York Fashion Week. She has never before shown at LFW, though a substantially different-looking Mrs Beckham took to the runway herself for Maria Grachvogel in 2000.
