www.womanthismonth.com 47 September 2014 When it comes to gardening, Zeeba Al Ameer believes that where there’s a will, there’s a way. The former Ministry of Agriculture researcher founded Nasayem Al Bahrain — the first agricultural consultancy in Bahrain. As part of her services, Zeeba carries out surveys of the client’s land, offering an agricultural plan depending on the client’s budget and suggesting the right species of plants for gardening in addition to stocking plants, seeds and other garden accessories. What makes Nasayem different from other gardening businesses is that Zeeba has a strong focus on conducting educational programmes for her clients in the areas of gardening and landscaping. “Our mission is to raise awareness of agriculture and to create an understanding of how a fruitful garden can be achieved, whether for personal or corporate purposes. We try to cater to our client’s requirements, environment and budget,” she says. Zeeba runs training programmes on the basics of agriculture, with in-depth modules on home-grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. She also provides expertise in sustainable gardening, large-scale crop production, field preparation and conditioning. With modern agricultural methods, such as hydroponics and aeroponics, in addition to developments in irrigation, farming in dry regions like the GCC has become possible. Nasayem is introducing and implementing these processes in Bahrain. Located in A’ali, Riyadat Mall is a joint initiative spearheaded by the Bahrain Development Bank in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women. Call 66 332-169 or visit www.riyadat.com.bh. For a Greener Bahrain Anyone who thought gardening in Bahrain was difficult will reconsider once they visit the Nasayem Al Bahrain store at Riyadat Mall. showcase Zeeba Al Ameer
