October 2018 www.womanthismonth.com 44 FASHION | fashion forward Street Style at Splash Splash Fashions has launched #InFashion, its first campaign as part of a new way forward, marking a commitment to collaboration with the community, moving the leading retailer away from its recent celebrity phase. #InFashion is inspired by Splash’s mission to forge close relationships between its consumers, telling the stories originating from the cities, streets and faces of the region, championing the freshest creative catalysts across fashion, design, music, art and sustainability. The first two faces selected to partner with Splash in this way are Tarek AlHarbi and Taim Al Falasi, who feature as part of the #InFashion campaign footage. The brand is calling out for additional faces for a direction that is powerful, expressive and that maintains a deep relevance with its consumers, evidenced in digital content, but also through new store layouts, merchandising and product displays. One key action in recent years has been support for the environment and manufacturing chain, with Splash selling over 22.4 million sustainable products in the past five seasons. Burberry Goes Fur-Free Having faced a massive backlash on the announcement that it had burnt almost BD15 million worth of old stock, British brand Burberry has vowed to end the decidedly eco-unfriendly practice, which is pretty common throughout the fashion industry. And going a step further to get back into the green generation’s good books, the brand has also promised to dump real fur from its future collections, following in the footsteps of other fashion biggies such as Stella McCartney and Gucci. See www.womanthismonth.com for a comprehensive list of fur-free brands. Moschino-H&M Collabo First Look At long last, it’s here.
