October in Focus Swim and Run for Pink The Bahrain Triathlon Association will be organising the first ever All Women Aquathlon in the Kingdom on October 6. The event, which will be held in collaboration with Think Pink, is designed for participants over 16 years of age and will take place at the Ministry of Education’s Scout Camp in Zallaq at 7am on the day. The race entails a 100m swim followed by a 3km run. The swim route will be supported with kayaks and lifeguards for safety purposes, and to guide participants along the way. Part of the proceeds will go to Think Pink, in appreciation of its efforts to raise breast cancer awareness. Call 77 713-777. Party for Pink The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain will be hosting The American Express Pink Party on October 5 from 8pm to 1am, on the beautiful beach by the Marina, where islanders are invited to join in the fun and show their support for Think Pink. International female DJs, Alina and Kathryn, will burn the discs all night, supported by the legendary Chris Sharp flying in from UK, playing his LED Sax. The event kicks off on October 8 at 4.30am and will continue till 7.30pm. Nikki Hunter, Rob Lane, Ben Stimson and Philip Waine will all complete 100 holes of golf in one day. Speculation competitions will take place during the event, which will be announced closer to the date for golfers to enter. Zumba for Pink Bahrain Zumbathon 2017 is a much anticipated charity event that will be held on October 29 at the Gulf Hotel Convention Center in Adliya. The event, held annually, is for women only and is a fundraiser to contribute towards increasing the awareness of health and fitness in the Kingdom. This is going to be an event like never before, where you will workout to great music, with great people and burn calories without even realising it. The aim is to raise money for the education and research fund of the Bahrain Breast Cancer Society. Riders can enjoy the traffic-free streets of Manama on October 7, when they kick off in two groups from The Westin Bahrain City Centre. The first group will start at 7am and complete a 60km distance while the second will start at 7.05am and cover 40km. The event starts with coffee, and concludes with breakfast at the hotel. There are also raffle prizes, which include a round trip flight for two to Europe in premium economy class, Westin vouchers for a stay, UFC gym membership and Bahrain Merida merchandise.
