76 | November 2011 | woman this month Showcase What’s an island without pirates? Less adventurous we say! That is why Bahrain’s biggest water park has prepared an irresistible two-week-show for everyone seeking a good thrill. For the first time, the entire family can enjoy the “Pirates in Bahrain” show from November 3-16 for only BD22. The theatrical water show will start with a series of events that will be performed four times a day at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, which you wouldn’t want to miss. Unlike other pirates who are trained in the arts of stealing, these ones are experts when it comes to entertaining. The group is best known for their trained acrobats, gymnasts and dancers that will have you holding your breath as they flip, dive and swing across the park. The must-see-acts will include pyrotechnics, sword fights, juggling and other thrilling stunts. “An epic tale will unfold before the audience as pirates perform incredible feats and amazing stunts before their eyes, delighting children and families alike. We are really going to make this event full-on with the theme of the park,” said Issa Asmar, assistant general manager at LPOD. All staff at the park are embracing the piratetheme — guards and waiters dress like swashbucklers, while they maintain your safety or escort you to your table. The themed entertainment show will take place across the park’s 77,000 square metres of land. The ex-Olympian performers will have your jaw drop with astonishment as they back-up their show with special effects, such as explosions of the giant cannon, which they shipped with them from Germany. These pirates have received international acclaim and success while performing their momentous series of shows at previous venues around the world. A giant pirate ship will come into port at the park in the biggest wave pool in the Middle East. The ship brought from Germany has a prominent feature of a 35metre high mast and multiple diving platforms for the performers to leap from and wow the audience. The attendees will still have full access to all the facilities of LPOD, such as the slides and the relaxing lazy river, for the entire day from 10am6pm. You can also take a moment to zone out on the Dilmun Beach or grab a bite to eat at any of the delicious food outlets available there. You can purchase the tickets from a number of outlets around the Kingdom, including Euphoria in Seef Mall, Geant Hypermarket and LPOD itself. So hurry up and get your ticket today!
