The new facility has the MRI, CT Scan, Dexa and Ultrasound Unit all in one location. This will significantly enhance American Mission Hospital’s imaging and diagnostic abilities, providing more patient comfort, all at affordable prices. The Philips Ingenia 1.5 Tesla is one of the latest and most versatile MRI machines. This is the first one to be installed in the Kingdom. The imaging time is quicker, with an average of 20 minutes if no contrast is needed. The machine is less noisy and has the patient’s comfort as an added feature in allowing a patient to watch a video or listen to music while undergoing the imaging. MRIs can be used for a variety of conditions including imaging the spine, head and brain, the musculoskeletal system, breast cancer screening and many other issues. The imaging centre is based at Manama and is available 24 hours in the event of emergencies; otherwise it operates from 7.30am to 10pm. Call 17 177-711.
