Today, the company continues to thrive, thanks to the skill and passion of the craftsmen and women in whose hands the watches are assembled, adjusted and inspected. This long tradition and high level of craftsmanship were the keys to the creation of the Presage collection of fine mechanical watches. From its very first watch in 1913 to today’s latest creations, Seiko has continuously honed its skills, increased the precision of its manufacturing and developed new ideas and components in its own, uniquely Japanese style. The Seiko collection includes several very special creations with dials made of enamel. The Japanese tradition of enamel work has a long history, embracing both white enamelling and the celebrated cloisonné style. Consequently, every dial is different and has its own specific beauty. The smoothness, the texture and the rich whiteness of the dials do not change with the years, so the beauty of a Presage enamel dial is forever. Seiko has a reputation for innovation and, over the years, this tradition has continued. In 1958, Seiko created its own shock resistance system – Diashock – and in 1959 it introduced the Magic Lever winding system. By 1969, it made the world’s first automatic chronograph with both vertical clutch and column wheel systems, and in 2009 the company created a new hi-beat calibre using its own alloys for the main and hairsprings. At the heart of every Presage watch are three technologies: Spron, Diashock and Magic Lever. Spron mainspring and hairspring alloys boast superior elasticity, strength, and corrosion and heat resistance, and deliver the reliable and precise foundation for every Presage watch. Diashock is a device that absorbs impact on one of the most vulnerable parts of the mechanical watch, the balance-staff pivot. Lastly, the Magic Lever system increases the winding efficiency and shortens the time needed for the main spring to become fully wound. Call 17 225-513.
