The name itself is a wordplay on the move to a more eco-conscious you: B-ECO-ME! You can now purchase reusable eco-friendly bags and ditch the plastic ones altogether. They are not just easy on the environment but are also designed with fun and stylish patterns, so you can use them for a variety of occasions, be it grocery shopping, a trip to the gym or just as a day bag. “We only have one Earth to live on and we need to start taking better care of it,” says marketing and product development manager, Pavlos Manousos Babiolakis. “The BECOME project has been underway for more than a year now and we are excited to finally be able to share the end results with our customers.” One of the most shocking facts Alosra discovered during the initial research was that in 2012 alone, enough plastic bags were used to cross the width of Bahrain nine times! “Considering that plastic bags are such a hazard, especially in terms of animal harm, it was crucial for us to take a stance and push for more eco-friendly solutions,” Pavlos adds.
