One Juffair venue is playing the cards right with two DJs and a new resident band, creating a favourite haunt for party-goers. Z-Club is no new name in the nightlife scene in Bahrain. Located on the first floor of Pars International in the heart of Juffair, this hangout has played host to some of the biggest DJ nights the Kingdom has seen. Through the years, Z-Club has undergone quite a few advancements including a major renovation in 2011 which got people pouring in night after night. Recently, the venue has undergone a facelift to give it a more lounge-like vibe. As you walk in, you are wrapped with a new kind of energy. Perfect for after work drinks, the nightclub boasts an elaborate bar which houses an extensive array of all your favourite beverages. They’ve got the popular drafts and kegs for the chugging kind. For those who know their drinks, the expert bartenders will not disappoint, especially with their signature cocktails that undergo a ‘juggle and balance’ routine before it comes to you. The entertainment only begins here, though. Movers and shakers The real show lies closer to the lavish dance floor, which has seen more than a few good routines. Reeling in the crowd with their energetic sets is the Oriental band, The Blur, which performs Saturday to Tuesday, from 9pm until the doors shut at 2am. This octet does not stop at the Top 40; instead, they bring you a variety of numbers from all kinds of genres. The highlight of this in-house band is their expertise with the instruments. Two guitarists give out a power-packed show, led by lead guitarist and band leader, Nick. They are backed up by Yut at the drums and three dynamic vocalists. What makes them stand out from the rest is the use of the khene, a traditional mouth organ used in north-eastern Thailand. Also entertaining the crowd between each set is in-house DJ Arvin and DJ Guy. Theme nights Ladies drink for free till the clock strikes twelve on Wednesday and Friday.
