The legendary model boasts even more power and exquisite styling and, for the first time in its history, the Targa is wearing the GTS badge. Created to offer more comfort to sport drivers in long distance competitions, the Gran Turismo Sport (GTS) was the solution from the engineers at Zuffenhausen. Many developments have happened since then and the meaning of the GTS classification has eventually come to serve as a label for an even sportier driving experience with a high level of comfort. The line comes with an array of trim details that defines the family as the ultimate symbol of sports purism. The 911 Targa 4 GTS is the most dynamic in the range with a 430hp engine taking the car from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds. The impressive performance is achieved thanks to the standard Sport Chrono package, PASM chassis and PDK transmission. Following Porsche’s philosophy of increasing performance without compromising efficiency, despite the additional 30hp power, the combined fuel consumption is equal to the 911 Targa 4S (9.2 to 10.0 l/100km depending on the type of transmission). The Targa concept was developed in 1965 to deliver safe driving enjoyment with all-wheel drive and a wide rollover protection bar instead of B-pillars. The car has a moveable roof section to add an element of fresh-air fun, which can be stowed fully automatically at the press of a button in just 19 seconds in the latest models. The new design mixes the timeless concept of the original with the latest developments in Porsche performance and the new silhouette carries the sporty heritage of the Porsche GTS bloodline. However, the GTS DNA is not confined to the exterior, the interior also bears the stamp of the Targa’s new family group. The Sport Chrono package is integrated at the centre of the instrument panel and the seats are fourway adjustable Sport Plus with black GTS logos on the head restraints and additional lateral support offering long-distance cruising comfort. The standard aluminium door sill plates feature the Targa 4 GTS model name in black, leaving no doubt over the source of the model’s sporty characteristics.
