The two-storey restaurant prides itself on serving dishes evocative of the rich heritage of Lebanese cuisine, offering guests a magnificent experience of the country’s food, culture, and hospitality. If atmosphere is of high importance, Abd El Wahab may just be one of the best choices in the city. Through the doors of the restaurant is a step into Lebanon, with elements native to Arabian décor such as geometric patterns and embroidered seating, lending it an ambiance nothing short of classic, yet modern. It is one of the only restaurants with a Lebanese chef, Louis, who has been running an excellent culinary team since 2011. Abd El Wahab uses only the freshest, premium ingredients, which directly impacts the quality of the food. The menu offers mezze, grills, sandwiches, desserts and other Lebanese favourites. Chef Louis believes each dish is not merely a recipe, but a story. “Every dish we create is unique. Our grilled chicken is the best in town, a combination of fresh farm chicken cooked in a special marinade and a mix of spices. We will soon introduce a sweet store offering delicious, traditional sweets that the guests can take back home,” he explains. The restaurant has branches all over the Middle East including Bahrain, Lebanon, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Egypt. There is a business lunch with a set menu for BD5 on weekdays and a variety of entertainment on other days. Oud musicians and a Lebanese singer fill the first floor of the restaurant with mesmerising tunes everyday. Ladies can enjoy free shisha from 9pm onwards every Wednesday. The ground floor is non-smoking, and the top floor has a shisha lounge as well as dining space. There will be a special set menu for Eid, with lively Lebanese entertainment and a surprise for customers, priced at BD15++ on the ground floor and BD18++ on the first floor with seafood options.
