Shakespearean Tale Here at WTM we’re big fans of Anne Tyler, she of The Accidental Tourist and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant, so we’re very excited at the news that she’s the latest literary luminary to tackle Shakespeare for the Hogarth series. The Vinegar Girl, her modern reimagining of The Taming of The Shrew, tells the story of Kate, a university drop-out whose father is pushing her to marry his lab assistant so he can stay in the country. Definitely one for our holiday packing. Murder Mystery If you fancy a fun night out at the same time as raising funds for animals in needs, sign up for the BSPCA’s next murder mystery night which is happening at The Dilmun Club on July 14. With the theme Nip & Tuck, participants will be tasked to discover who killed Dr Ryan O’Plasty, the famous plastic surgeon. These nights are always a good laugh and there’s a prize for the best costume so it’s a good excuse to dig out your stethoscope and scrubs. Tickets are BD13 including dinner and a welcome drink and spaces are limited so get in early and purchase them either from the club or the Thrift Shop. Signs of Summer Bahrain’s regular summer festival returns this month with performances from the likes of The Voice Kids, Tap Factory, The Smurfs Live Onstage and a tribute to one of the greats of Arabic music, Najat Al-Saghira.
