49 WOTYA 2025 womanthismonth.com | JANUARY 2026 A purpose-driven entrepreneur and Chairperson, Tanima Chakravorty has built her career around impact-led innovation and ethical leadership. Through ventures such as Biolights, and her work as an ICF-certified business coach and community advocate, she champions sustainability, empowerment and responsible finance. Her influence has earned her recognition among Business Elite’s 40 Under 40, as well as the Woman in Business Leadership title at the Woman of the Year Awards. What was a moment during the ceremony that felt most meaningful to you? Looking at my mother in the audience while thanking her on stage. Saying, “I am what I am because of you,” directly to her and seeing her eyes was the most powerful moment of the night. That connection reminded me why I do what I do. Were there any reactions from family, team, or community that surprised you? The flood of messages from people I had not spoken to in years surprised me deeply. Former colleagues, old friends, even acquaintances reached out to say they felt proud. It showed me that our journeys touch more lives than we realise. How has winning informed your priorities or plans since the awards night? It has reinforced my belief that success means nothing without impact. My priority now is to create more opportunities for women in business, whether through mentorship, collaboration, or simply opening doors that were once closed to me. How will you use the prize, platform, or network that came with this award? To amplify other women’s voices. This platform is not mine alone. It belongs to every woman building Bahrain’s future. I want to use it to connect, mentor and advocate for women who are still finding the courage to step forward. What concrete next steps or milestones are you committing to in the next 12 months? I am committed to launching a mentorship initiative for young women entrepreneurs in Bahrain, expanding my business with a clear focus on creating leadership opportunities for women within my team, and sharing my journey through speaking engagements to encourage others to dare, dream and act. What is one piece of advice you would give to young women looking up to you now? Dare to love, trust and dream, even when it feels risky. Choose courage every single day. And remember, you do not need permission to take up space. The little girl inside you already knows what she is capable of. Listen to her.
