Snapping away is the simplest way to appreciate the beauty of the place in which we live and there are many clubs and societies to join if you want to be inspired by others. 2. Weaving. One of the island’s most traditional crafts is weaving, be it to make a basket or a garment. Learn the skill at Kurar House within the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre or at Capital Mall. 3. Knitting. It may seem like something only your grandmother would do, but knitting is actually really useful, fun and cool! Knit your own chunky sweaters, scarves and even blankets to keep you cosy. 4. Gardening. Take advantage of the cooler weather and get outside. Beautify your garden with flowers or grow vegetables, fruits and herbs for healthier living. 5. Jewellery making. We all love wearing jewellery, so why not make exactly what you want to wear? The Gold Souq is full of beads and stones perfect for any creation. 6. Baking. Last year it was all about cupcake and whoopie pies and who knows what sweet treat this year will highlight, but whatever it is, it will be fun to make and delicious to eat. 7. Customising. If there is one thing Bahrain is full of, its fabric shops, and affordable ones at that. Play around with enhancing tired old outfits with embellishments for a new fun look. Push Yourself. 8. Acting. This is a great way to build confidence and unveil a talent you didn’t know you had. The Manama Theatre Club frequently puts on productions and welcomes all ages. 9. Singing. If your inner diva is screaming to be unleashed, singing lessons or even joining a choir is the right way to go. Plus, it’s a good way to relieve tension. 10. Dancing. There are so many different forms of dancing that surely one must appeal. So get on your shoes and show us some moves. 11 Sporting. Whether you like to run, jump, play ball, cycle or golf, Bahrain is full of clubs offering every choice possible to keep you fit and having fun. 12. Racing cars. The BIC is a wonderful facility that should be taken advantage of. Here you can drag race, speed along in go-karts and take an interest in the big-boy competitions. 13. Water sports. As we live in a country entirely surrounded by water, it is safe to say there are numerous water activities to partake in. Try jet skiing at the Marina Club or diving at Coral Beach Club. Branch Out. 14. Volunteer. Doing something charitable each week takes your mind off your own woes and help improve life for someone or something else.
