However, it seems that no sooner than the collection hit the shops, H&M were already sealing the deal for another designer collaboration. The next capsule wardrobe is coming from none other than the sultry, quirky brand Marni. Look out for chunky shapes and interesting prints. Helen Mirren is something of a phenomenon. She has managed to keep to the very top of the style thermometer, despite getting on in life and without relying on shock tactics like some other ageing celebrities…ahem Daphne Guinness! The Oscar-winning actress has been widely lauded for her refined, classic and elegant look. She has been named the ultimate style icon among women over 50, beating 1960s icon Twiggy and pop princess Lulu. A spokeswoman for clothing brand Viyella, who carried out the poll, said: “Dame Helen Mirren has as much style, grace and elegance off screen as she does on it and is a fitting icon for the women of her generation.” Versace Who? Helen Mirren Tamara Mellon always has a new trick up her sleeve. She went from burnt out socialite to the founder of one of the most popular and successful shoe brands in the world — Jimmy Choo. Now, though, it seems like it is all change again. She recently allowed the sale of the brand to reach completion, with the assumption that, although the Labelux company would have ownership, she would remain at the fashion house in some capacity. Not so! According to reports she has handed in her resignation and plans to start her own lifestyle brand. Watch this space! Okay so Elle Macpherson hasn’t exactly been at the forefront of the modelling world for some time, but somehow she has seemed to retain a firm grip on her trademark nickname “The Body”. Up until now, that is. Vogue magazine — largely responsible for dubbing her with that title so many years ago — has bequeathed it to another nude beauty. Karlie Kloss is, apparently, being hailed as “The New Body” after a semi-naked photoshoot in the mag. We’re not sure how we feel about this, as Ms Kloss is arguably a little too thin to be a great role model, but out with the old and in with the new!
