I am a member at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, a board certified plastic surgeon. I did my master's degree at Queen Mary University London in body contouring surgery, my fellowship was in breast surgery at Cambridge University and I did my cosmetic fellowship at the world-renowned McIndoe surgical Centre. I did my training in Britain, France and the Netherlands. Please give details of some of the surgical procedures you offer and which are the most popular here in Bahrain? At Ibn Al Nafees, we offer a wide range of procedures and treatments. Currently, the most popular are liposuction, bodycontouring, breast surgeries and noninvasive cosmetics. Who is the best candidate for plastic surgery – age group, state of health, skin/ body condition – and how do they have to be prepared to adapt their lifestyle postsurgery to make it worthwhile? Plastic surgery is for any patient who needs it. It is suitable for all ages, races and genders. Lifestyle changes and aftercare are very important for all patients such as stopping smoking [it affects the skin], ensuring to use sun screen [particularly after facial treatments] and maintaining or adopting a healthy diet [particularly for those who have had liposuction]. Please give details of any non-surgical procedures you offer and how these can impact on patients’ lives, looks? Non-invasive treatments include injections with fillers, Botox and plasma. We also do skin laser treatments and hydra facials as well as chemical peels. Non-invasive treatments help patients glow and restore their youthfulness and beauty.
